Over the last ten years, Melissa’s experience is based on a solid foundation of knowledge in equity capital markets through her sell-side research and equity trading background. Given her professional training and CFA certification, Melissa is instrumental in advising and developing the appropriate market strategy based on financial results to best position a company’s quarterly announcements. Melissa joined ICR in 2015 and focuses on retail, apparel, footwear, and restaurant sectors.
Melissa’s experience has been concentrated primarily in the consumer sector, analyzing company specific earnings results, relative valuation versus the competitive sector, as well as analyzing industry trends to determine the financial health and growth potential for the market. She has hands-on experience for how the stock market interprets financial reporting, trends, and economic change, as well as the impact on company share prices and investor sentiment. Melissa has professional relationships with many corporate management teams and institutional investors.
Prior to joining ICR, Melissa spent four years as a sell-side senior research associate covering Specialty Retail, most recently at Telsey Advisory Group and at Lazard Capital Markets. While at Lazard Capital Markets, Melissa spent 6 years as a market-maker on the equity desk trading Retail, Industrials, and Healthcare. She started her career working on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange for an independent broker. Melissa is a CFA charterholder and graduated with a B.S. in Finance from Penn State University.
