J.D. Moriarty

J.D. Moriarty joins ICR as CEO of ICR Capital with extensive experience in equity markets, investment banking and public company leadership roles.

Most recently, J.D. held leadership roles at LendingTree (TREE / Nasdaq) from 2017 to 2023, where he served as SVP of Corporate Development, Chief Financial Officer and President of Marketplace and Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining LendingTree, J.D. was Head of Equity Capital Markets – Americas at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. He enjoyed a 22-year career at Merrill Lynch and Bank of America in various roles in both Equity Markets and Investment Banking.

J.D. joined LendingTree in June of 2017 as Senior Vice President for Corporate Development, responsible for strategic acquisitions. He became the Company’s Chief Financial Officer in August of 2017, and continued leadership for Corporate Development. LendingTree completed seven acquisitions in J.D.’s first three years at the company, and those acquisitions drove LendingTree’s diversification from reliance on mortgage-related revenue. In 2021, J.D. moved into an operating role, as President of Marketplace and COO, where he led general management, sales, business development, numerous product initiatives, and enterprise operations before departing in late 2023.

While at Merrill Lynch and Bank of America, in addition to his leadership of the Equity Capital Markets business, J.D. led equity origination in a number of sectors, including Technology, Media, FinTech, Retail / Consumer, Industrials, Energy and Real Estate. Over his banking career, he led hundreds of transactions and enjoyed working with management teams and boards on as an advisor on IPOs, add-ons, convertible offerings, and broader financing strategies.

J.D. brings a unique experience as a banker, CFO and operator to ICR clients. He looks forward to working with clients, growing ICR Capital, and finding unique opportunities to bring the best of ICR to the expanding capital markets advisory role.

J.D. has an MBA from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business and a B.A. in Economics and Finance from Bucknell University.
